Students ServicesINTERSTUDCanada makes available to the international students a full range of services they need at every step such as before, during and at the end of their student life in Canada with the permanent goal to save you money, time and effort.

Registration- Language School,University or College

Contact INTERSTUDCanada if you are thinking of studying in Ottawa or other cities served by INTERSTUDCanada.

Whether you plan to register in languages school to learn English or French or in university or college, INTERSTUDCanada will provide you with accurate and up-to-date information about program content, tuition fees, program entry requirements (e.g. prerequisite or test), credentials, registration deadline of the institution which interests you.

Once you have decided which program to study, INTERSTUDCanada will fill the application forms and submit it on your behalf to reputed Canadian institutions. INTERSTUDCanada will make sure that the academic institution of your choice receives all the required documents on time and properly completed.

Note that the data collected in the form will be treated confidentially.

INTERSTUDCanada will follow-up your registration application to ensure it gets the proper attention and you will be updated regularly on its progress.

While waiting for the acceptance letter to be sent by the educational institution, necessary for your study permit application, INTERSTUDCanada will start the process of searching accommodation for you or something else depending on your needs.

Student Visa Application Assistance

Due to Bill C-35 (January 19 2011), INTERSTUDCanada is no longer able to help with immigration matters related to students such as completing their visa application forms and or student permit, compiling supporting documents, and submitting the applications sometimes on their behalf. INTERSTUDCanada is not an Authorized Representative such a lawyer to provide any immigration services, advices or assistance in exchange of fees.

However, INTERSTUDCanada will direct international students to the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) website to find the right application form or to obtain information on immigration programmes. It is the student responsibility to complete the form and send it with all accompanying documentation to the immigration address indicated in the form.

If requested, INTERSTUDCanada will refer international student with complex issues to a reputable lawyer who offers expert advice and assistance on citizenship and immigration matters.

Accommodation Hunting

There are different types of accommodation that we make available to our international students. Based on your choice of accommodation, INTERSTUDCanada will assist in finding suitable accommodation and make it ready for you for when you arrive in the city of your studies. Know that INTERSTUDCanada can help you choose the accommodation that best suits your needs, your family situation, the duration of your stay and your finances.

Below are listed the different types of housing INTERSTUDCanada can reserve for you before your arrival in Canada:

 1)      Home stay accommodation:

The home stay is a great opportunity to see how Canadians live, to be immersed in Canadian culture and practice talking in the studying language (English and / or French). INTERSTUDCanada weighs carefully and regularly monitors all host families to ensure they fully meet our rigorous selection criteria. Quality, comfort and hygiene of the household are the criteria as well as the sociability, the desire to welcome and moral values ​​of the host family.

INTERSTUDCanada carefully selects host family that best suits your personality, your lifestyle and of course your health needs, allergies, dietary restrictions (because of your religion, belief) …

INTERSTUDCanada has a network of host families carefully selected to offer hospitality to international students. In addition to their desire to provide a warm and welcoming family, host families provide students with:

– Accommodation: a single room, a shared or private bathroom, access to TV, washing machine, telephone.

– Meals: 2 or 3 times a day.

It is recognized that the fact of living in a host family favors the discovery of a new culture and provides an environment conducive to language development.

If you are interested in this type of housing, advise INTERSTUDCanada as soon as possible to begin the selection process for home stay.

 2)      Accommodation in residence:

Often, universities and colleges automatically reserve a room in residence for new international full time students. It is important to apply in time to secure a room in residence. If you are interested to live in residence, inform INTERSTUDCanada who will apply for you at the same time of registration in the desired program.

3)      Private accommodation:

This option allows you to live alone in an apartment, share an apartment or a house where every student roommate will have his own room. Arrangement for furnished room is also possible.

Inform INTERSTUDCanada of your choice so to begin the process of finding accommodation.

Reception at the Airport

On arrival at any Canadian airport, the international student must report to the Canadian immigration office to process his/her international student status.

If the period of your studies is 6 months or more, before issuing the study permit, the immigration officer will check passport, documents required for study abroad: letter of introduction issued by Canadian embassy, visa (delivered in some cases), letter of admission or acceptance in an academic institution, proof of sufficient funds to pay for tuition/ living expenses and sometimes health certificate.

If your study program lasts less than 6 months, the border agent will indicate on the student’s passport with a stamp.

After this first step regulating the entry into Canada, international student will head to the exit to meet the resource person for INTERSTUDCanada who will be waiting to greet the student with a welcome kit. Then, the student will be taken with his/her luggage to his/her place of residence. Should the accommodation not be finalized, the international student will be taken to a temporary housing until permanent housing is available to rent.

INTERSTUDCanada will arrange for the student to call his/her family to let know he/she has arrived safely.
